Is this you?

Your first 70.3 is on the horizon

You can get round the shorter races. Middle distance is a different animal, and guessing your way through the build is how a season quietly goes wrong.

You have the hours you have

Eight sessions and six to eight hours, built around a job. The higher volume track is there for when your hours grow, not before.

Your plan was written for somebody else

A static PDF hands you fixed paces off a stranger. Here every swim, bike and run comes off your own numbers, so it fits the athlete you are right now.

Wherever your fitness is today, the numbers meet it

Every swim, bike and run is set from your own CSS, FTP and threshold pace, so the plan fits the athlete you are right now and moves as those numbers move.

The programme

What Triathlon (up to 70.3) is built to do

Endurance-focused strength programming for long-distance triathletes.

Each block builds on the last, with sets, reps, targets and video demos laid out for every session. Open the app and today's work is waiting.

What's inside

Everything you need, nothing you don't

  • Eight sessions a week on Track 1: two swims, two bikes, two runs and two strength sessions, written as one plan rather than four plans sharing a body. Track 2 adds a third swim, an endurance bike and an easy fourth run for eleven sessions and nine to twelve hours, always easy aerobic volume and never another hard session. Everybody completes a block on Track 1 first, and you can switch at a block boundary
  • Every session prescribed from your own benchmarks: CSS in the pool, FTP on the bike, threshold pace on the run, so the plan scales to any current fitness instead of assuming one. The bike work alone spans twelve session types, from sweet spot and over-unders through to race simulation
  • Strength built joint by joint with a single leg emphasis, held at two sessions a week whatever the endurance volume is doing, with a matched alternative for every exercise so a swap never breaks the method
  • Bricks programmed where they earn their place rather than bolted on every week, because running off the bike is a skill worth rehearsing properly
  • Fuelling targets written into every ride over 90 minutes
  • Blocks that hold the same session types long enough for load and duration to climb, flipping from bike-led to run-led halfway through, with a recovery week every fourth week that keeps all eight sessions and takes about 30% of the volume out. Across the year the intensity mix shifts from pyramidal to polarised rather than sitting in one distribution forever
  • Testing weeks roughly quarterly, with a strength benchmark alongside the three endurance ones
  • Delivered daily in the training app with targets, video demos and coaching notes
The architecture

How the training rolls

The same sessions run all the way through a block. Halfway down it the emphasis swaps from bike-led to run-led, and every recovery week pulls the volume back without dropping one of them.

Two repeating training blocks. Each block runs a bike-led half in which the long ride grows, then flips to a run-led half in which the long run stretches out and the brick appears, with a recovery week closing each half. Below the blocks, a bike band above the line and a run band below it trade places across the midpoint: the bike band is thickest in the bike-led half and the run band is thickest in the run-led half, and neither ever disappears. Both bands pinch at every recovery week and both are thicker in the second block. A testing week follows, then the block repeats with more load.

Neither sport goes away at any point. The long ride leads the first half, then the long run and the brick take the second, and the swap is what lets each of them be properly long in turn. A recovery week keeps every session and takes the volume out instead.

Training that finally sticks

Whether this is your first structured programme or your fifth season, Triathlon (up to 70.3) gives you coach-led structure with a clear plan to follow every single day.

“Stronger On The Road”

★★★★★

Moe built a programme around my touring schedule instead of forcing me to build my life around a programme. I'm stronger now than before I started touring.

“Coaching That Just Works”

Running a company leaves little time to think about training. Moe handles the programming, I just show up and follow the plan, it works!

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know about Triathlon (up to 70.3)

How many hours a week is it?

Six to eight on Track 1, which is eight sessions and the default. Track 2 is eleven sessions and nine to twelve hours. The two tracks split on the time you have, not on how good you are.

What is CSS and how do I find mine?

Critical Swim Speed is the pace every swim session is built from. You find it with a 400 metre and a 200 metre time trial and the programme does the rest of the maths. It is a well established way to set swim paces, and it means your intervals are actually yours.

Do I need a power meter or smart trainer?

Strongly recommended, yes. Every bike session is prescribed as a percentage of your FTP, so without power you are estimating the most measurable part of the plan. A smart trainer or a power meter makes the bike work as written.

How much pool access do I need?

Two swims a week, which is the entry requirement for Track 1. If you cannot reliably get in the water twice, this is not the right plan yet. Track 2 adds a third.

Can I follow this without a race booked?

Yes, and plenty do. It is continuous programming across swim, bike, run and strength, so it works as a way to train properly in three sports whether or not there is a date in the diary. If you do have a race booked and want the run-in shaped around it, apply for 1:1 coaching.

Why is there strength training in a triathlon plan?

Because it earns its place. Heavy strength work improves cycling efficiency and endurance performance without reducing your aerobic capacity. Most triathlon plans treat the gym as the first thing to cut. Here it holds at two sessions a week on both tracks, and the extra hours on Track 2 go into easy aerobic volume rather than into dropping it.

Should I be on Track 1 or Track 2?

Start on Track 1 and complete a block. The tracks split on the hours you have, not on ability. Track 2 adds a third swim, an endurance bike and an easy fourth run, never a harder session, and you can switch at a block boundary.

What if I miss a day?

Nothing breaks. Pick up where you left off and the block simply shifts. Consistency over weeks matters far more than any single session.

How do I access my workouts?

Through the training app on your phone. Sign up, log in and today's session is on the home screen with sets, reps and video demos.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes, in a couple of taps from the app, including during the 7-day free trial. No calls, no lock-in.

What happens after the 7-day free trial?

Your subscription starts and the programme carries straight on from wherever you are in the block. Cancel before day 7 and you pay nothing.

Can I switch to 1:1 coaching later?

Yes, and programme members get priority when coaching spots open. Your training history comes with you.

Is my payment secure?

Payments are handled by our payment providers. Card details never touch our servers.

Still unsure? Apply for 1:1 coaching and we can talk through what fits.
